2 November 2009 marks a new milestone in the history of S B Global Logistics. The renewed partnership with DB Schenker is a significant event for SB and for the industry. The alignment of a local hero forming a partnership with a global leader is a powerful ingredient and will provide new benefits to our customers our suppliers and our own people.

This partnership will allow SB to utilise the DB Schenker Network to work closely with them in maintaining and building a strong Logistics base in the South Island. We will have the ability to connect with DB Schenker’s full range of Logistics services with more than 2,000 Schenker locations situated in 130 countries and employing 90,000 staff.

SB and our customers will be exposed to new and innovative products and technologies, increased opportunities with DB Schenker’ global purchasing power, and new career development pathway’s for our team. Most importantly SB is aligning itself closer to an organisation that practices common values and operates with the utmost integrity always.

Next year SB celebrates 20 years in business on 1 December 2010. Our journey has seen many exciting moments and an establishment of great people creating a great company.  Employing a team of more than 50 dedicated and committed people has been the most significant and rewarding part of doing business.

This journey has seen us handle many projects and be a close partner to many local customers. From aircraft charters to hydro scheme turbine replacements, from Southern Basin Oil Explorations equipment to the new Christchurch Press printing Installation, from critical aircraft part to live Alpaca’s we have served many customer needs.

The new SB Global Logistics DB Schenker partnership will initially be a challenging time for us as we bed down systems processes customers and people. But we give you our commitment that we will do all that is possible to make this a smooth transition for everyone.
